A unique community built to balance human needs with that of a larger ecosystem. Deer Canyon Preserve has been carefully designed to blend roads, utilities and home sites into the topography without disrupting the natural flow patterns of the wildlife preserve.

Living on a preserve is all about balance. It is the conscious choice to work with nature and become a steward of the land. With seventeen thousand private acres of wildlife and nature at your doorstep every day, Deer Canyon Preserve, offers recreational access for you, your family and friends. Whether you are a hiker, biker, naturalist or horse enthusiast, this community gives you a chance to connect with nature, and discover new recreational activities.

The region surrounding Deer Canyon Preserve is superior birding territory, since the Preserve is located just to the south of the Rocky Mountain Flyway. Five mountain ranges surround the Preserve, providing spectacular sunsets, sunrises, views and vistas that will amaze you.

Approximately three miles from the entrance of Deer Canyon Preserve is Mountainair, an active and emerging artist community. Centrally located in New Mexico, it’s an easy hour and a half drive to Albuquerque and just under two hours to Santa Fe.
